Bio

Kamila Pavlova is a Czech/British painter living in Tours, France.

She also experiments with other media – some of her work are sculptures, installations, engravings, photos, performance and drawing. She is currently an art student at École supérieure d’art et de design TALM-Tours.

Earlier, Kamila studied medicine at Charles University in Prague and worked in surgery in Czech Republic and in the UK. She started with creative work in 2012, and gradually moved from a past-time activity to a career path.

Kamila is interested in the vulnerability of a human being in respect to its physical basis and psychological underpinnings. Undeniably, she has been influenced by her career in medicine (from here an interest in body transformation, transfiguration post mortem).

Most recently in terms of subject matter, Kamila moved into the realm of internal suffering, melancholy, painful human interactions and psychological games. Future evolution of her work seems to be pointing towards introspection, inner complex world, the universe which is ambiguous and lyrical in nature.
